    Three charged with theft of ATMs in Windham

    State police have charged three people in connection with a series of commercial burglaries that include the theft or attempted theft of six ATMs in the Windham area.

    The burglaries were committed between Jan. 2 and Jan. 20 and investigated in a joint effort by troopers from Troop K in Colchester, Willimantic police, detectives from the state Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad, the state police Windham Heights Task Force, the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force and the Department of Probation, according to a statement from state police.

    Details on where the thefts occurred were not immediately available.

    Joshua Parker, 25, of Windham and Anibal Crespo, 23, of Willimantic each were charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree larceny and one count of second-degree criminal mischief.

    Hunter Carruthers, 22, of no certain address was charged with one count of third-degree burglary and one count of sixth-degree larceny.

    Parker posted bond while Carruthers and Crespo were expected to be presented Tuesday in Danielson Superior Court.
