Pair charged with burglaries from vehicles in Ledyard

Ledyard – Police early Thursday morning arrested two 20-year-old Ledyard men on charges connected to a series of vehicle break-ins in the Gales Ferry section of town.

Zachary Ramos and Mathew Kaminiski, both of 1500 Route 12, Unit 25, were charged with third-degree larceny.

At 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Ledyard police said a concerned citizen called police to report a car alarm was going off and that a person was seen running on Mulberry Drive in Gales Ferry.

Police responded and used a K9 team that led them to 1500 Route 12. Along the route of the track, police said they noticed numerous vehicles appeared to have been entered.

While at 1500 Route 12, numerous items that had been reported stolen recently were located. Police said they are in the process of inventorying the stolen property in an attempt reconnect victims with their property.

Ramos and Kaminski were each held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and scheduled for an appearance Friday in New London Superior Court.
