New London — No one was injured when a woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed it into the fence surrounding Cedar Grove Cemetery just before noon Thursday, police said.

Police said the woman lost control after she unexpectedly hit the raised median strip on Chester Street while traveling north toward Jefferson Avenue.

Her sport utility vehicle then traveled across Jefferson Avenue and came to a stop when it connected with the chain link fence that surrounds Cedar Grove Cemetery.

The vehicle, which had substantial front end damage, was towed from the scene.
