    Norwich police arrest two people, seize fentanyl and cocaine

    Norwich — City police say two people have been arrested and several drugs seized in connection with a recent overdose investigation.

    An overdose prompted Officer Nathan O'Keefe and the department's Narcotics Division to obtain a search warrant for 13 Carlson St. on Thursday evening, according to a news release.

    There, police said they found and seized more than 100 bags of fentanyl, a powerful opioid; 38.9 grams of cocaine; Suboxone strips and various other prescription medications; hallucinogenic mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia. Police also seized about $28,000 in cash, which they said was determined to be direct proceeds of narcotics sales, as well as a car.

    Joseph Salimeno, 28, who police said lives at the Carlson Street residence, is charged with operating a drug factory and interfering with police, in addition to nine other drug-related charges. He was being held on a $250,000 bond.

    Julie Kozlowski, 30, of 8 Reynolds St., Norwich, faces four drug counts and additionally is charged with interfering with a police officer. She was released on a $10,000 nonsurety bond.

    Both are due in court April 18.

    Norwich police did not release the identity or any other details about the overdose victim. The department is asking anyone with information about illegal drug activity to call its anonymous tip line at (860) 886-5561, ext. 4.
