Griswold — State police arrested a Griswold man on multiple charges Saturday for allegedly threatening and yelling racial slurs at another individual at his apartment complex.

Robert B. Authelet, 28, of 97 Preston Road allegedly spit on the door of one of the residents, used racial slurs and then threatened a state trooper when confronted.

Police said after his arrest, Authelet continued to yell racial slurs at minority residents and threatened the arresting trooper multiple times, saying he would find the trooper when he was off duty and assault him. Authelet was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear Monday in Norwich Superior Court.

Authelet is charged with second-degree threatening, risk of injury to a minor, interfering with a police officer, breach of peace and second-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias.
