Fatal overdose investigation leads to drug arrest in Montville

Montville — Police arrested an Uncasville man on Monday as part of an investigation into the overdose death of a 26-year-old last summer.

Gregory Benjamin, 25, is charged him one count of sale of narcotics.

The arrest stems from a July 20, 2021, overdose death being investigated by Montville police detectives. The overdose victim met with Benjamin in Montville to purchase heroin/fentanyl, police said in a statement. After selling the drugs, police said Benjamin provided instructions on how to take the drugs and how much to take.

He was held Monday on a $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in Norwich Superior Court.
