Police identify body of Westerly man found at marina
Westerly – Police have identified the man whose body was discovered Friday near a dock in the Avondale section of town.
The body of Harry Grossman, 83, was discovered Friday in the water at the Frank Hall marina by another boater, according to Westerly police Chief Paul J. Gingerella. He said first responders arrived to find no signs of life.
Westerly police detectives and the medical examiner’s office were on scene, Gingerella said.
The chief said early indications point to an apparent medical emergency that caused Grossman to fall in the water. It will be up to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death, which Gingerella expects will happen this coming week.
