Norwich ― A man was found dead on Tuesday in a collapsed portion of a mobile home in the Little Valley Mobile Village at 303 Mohegan Park Road, fire officials said.

Taftville Fire Chief Timothy Jencks said the department was called at 6:20 p.m. to assist Norwich police after officers found the deceased resident trapped in a collapsed portion of the floor in the mobile home.

Taftville and Yantic firefighters aided in stabilizing the home and helping to remove the person. Personnel from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner were also at the scene, Jencks said.

Police have not yet provided any further information about the incident or the identity of the individual.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased during this difficult time,” the Taftville Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
