Police said Rivera remains in custody at York and was presented in New London Superior Court Monday on the charges.

Police said they were called to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London on Aug. 31 to meet with the victim of a reported assault at the prison. The victim was listed as a 47-year-old inmate at the prison.
