Mashantucket ― A driver lost control of a vehicle Tuesday morning at Foxwoods Resort Casino, causing damage to a parking garage that has been temporarily closed.

The vehicle caught fire after colliding with a Rainmaker Garage entry area, causing fire damage as well as subsequent water damage as the fire was extinguished, according to Jason Guyot, Foxwoods’ president and chief executive officer.

“The area is now clear and there were no serious injuries reported,” Guyot wrote in an email Tuesday afternoon. No casino businesses were disrupted.

Guyot indicated the extent of the damage and a timetable for reopening the garage were being assessed. In the meantime, parking for Foxwoods patrons is available in the Grand Pequot Garage, the Great Cedar Garage and The Fox Tower Garage.
