East Lyme police swear in new officer
East Lyme ― The police department on Friday welcomed its newest officer, an Old Lyme native who previously worked at the New London Police Department.
Officer Kaisea Caramante was sworn in at a ceremony Friday morning at the police Department. The 29-year-old is a graduate of Lyme-Old Lyme High School who attended Mitchell College in New London where she studied behavioral science and was a two-sport athlete.
Caramante graduated from the state police academy in 2020 and worked in New London for three years, where she was trained as a field training officer and in crisis intervention.
“Kaisea is an outstanding fit for our agency, who brings outstanding training, experience and community mindedness to the East Lyme Police Department,” Police Chief Michael Finkelstein said. “We are so fortunate to be able to add her to our growing and talented staff.”
