Tractor trailer crash has closed large section of I-395 in Waterford

Waterford ― A tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 395 late Thursday afternoon has closed down the southbound lanes and one northbound lane between exits 5 and 2.

State police said the crash involving the tractor trailer and one motor vehicle occurred around 5:50 p.m. There were no injuries.

By 7 p.m., police said the tractor trailer was still blocking the highway with closures likely to last for hours. Police were waiting for a tow truck as the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to clean up a fuel spill.
