Norwich ― Police responded about 3 p.m. Sunday to a report from a home at 44 Laurel Hill Ave. of a 3-year-old child who had fallen out of a third-story window.

The child fell about 20 feet, Sgt. Chris Chastang said.

American Ambulance arrived and took the child to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, where the child is in stable condition, Chastang said.

Police are investigating the fall as an accident, Chastang said.
