Firefighters contain Saturday afternoon blaze in Mystic

Mystic – One person has been displaced after smoke and water damage from a garage fire left a Cow Hill Road home temporarily uninhabitable.

Old Mystic Fire Department Capt. Ben Ragsdale said firefighters from multiple departments responded to the 12:10 p.m. call at 134 Cow Hill Road. Firefighters arrived to find the fire confined to the garage, where they were able to stop it.

Ragsdale said no injuries were reported.

One resident was outside the home when they arrived, according to Ragsdale. The American Red Cross in a release said volunteers responded to help the displaced person with immediate needs.

Firefighters from Old Mystic Fire Department, Mystic Fire Department, US Naval Submarine Base Fire Department, Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department and North Stonington Fire Department responded.
