    Police arrest parent for drunk driving at Ledyard school

    Ledyard ― Police on Monday arrested a Mashantucket woman on drunken driving charges after they said she was intoxicated while dropping her child off at the middle school.

    Christina Morrissette, 33, of 15 Ephraim’s Path was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and risk of injury to a minor.

    At 11:49 a.m. on Monday, police said officers went to the Ledyard Middle School at 1860 Route 12 in Gales Ferry for a report of an intoxicated person. Police said Morrissette had driven into the parent drop off area and appeared to be intoxicated. School staff reported to police that Morrissette was behaving erratically while she dropped off her child.

    Police said Morrissette failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the the police department where she was charged and held on a $7,500 bond.
