    Fire damages New London apartment house

    New London ― Several residents were displaced late Wednesday afternoon after a fire damaged a four-unit apartment building at 143 Oneco Dr.

    Fire Chief Thomas Curcio said that when firefighters responded at 5:25 p.m., they found a first-floor bedroom of the two-story building on fire. It took firefighters 10 to 15 minutes to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries.

    He said up to four residents were temporarily displaced and were being assisted by the Red Cross. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
