Waterford ― Police said a gas leak at Target led to the evacuation of the store Tuesday afternoon.

Police were alerted at 12:48 p.m. about the leak at 900 Hartford Turnpike.

Fire crews were still at the site almost an hour later, but police said the leak was contained.
