Salem ― A woman, who ran into a guardrail while bicycling on Saturday, has died.

Salem Volunteer Fire Company Eugene Maiorano said the woman in her early 60s was coming down a hill on Forsyth Road and heading toward Route 85 when she ran into a guardrail and was taken by Life Star to Backus Hospital in Norwich.

State police said an autopsy was performed.

The collision was called in around 3:36 p.m., according to police.
