Norwich police investigating human remains found inside vehicle
Norwich ― Police have discovered human remains in a vehicle at an auto sales and service center in Greeneville Sunday afternoon, police said.
Police said the remains were discovered at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday at TCB Autobody Sales at 267 N. Main St. A citizen called police, “reporting the possible discovery of human remains.” Norwich police patrol and detectives responded and confirmed that the remains were human.
Police Detective Pete Karasuk, who is leading the investigation, said Monday the remains appear to be a man and may have been there for months.
Police said more information would be released pending the results of an autopsy by the chief State’s Medical Examiner’s Office.
Anyone with information regarding the discovery is asked to contact Karasuk at (860) 886-5561.
On Monday afternoon, the small parking lot at the business was full of parked cars and trucks, along with one tow truck. But the business was closed during the listed business hours. Yellowpages.com lists the business as closed, and two phone numbers, including one on the large building sign, were not in service. The business status is listed as “forfeited” on the Secretary of the State’s business filing section of its website.
The business and property are owned by Pete Oddo Sr. of Preston.
