Norwich police charge man in September stabbing

Norwich ― City police this week wrapped up an investigation into a stabbing last year by arresting a 35-year-old New London man on felony assault charges.

Pierre R. Anis of 104 Ocean Ave. was charged March 4 with first-degree assault and breach of peace in connection with a Sept. 21, 2023, stabbing in the area of 229 Boswell Ave.

Police have not identified the 20-year-old male victim, who showed up at Backus Hospital with with a stab wound to the chest. The man was flown in critical condition to Hartford Hospital.

Anis remains held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear March 14 in Norwich Superior Court.
