Norwich police investigate bomb threat at Planet Fitness

Norwich ― Police said they went to Planet Fitness at 5 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a “possible bomb threat” at the 42 Town St. gym.

Numerous other Planet Fitness locations in towns and cities in Connecticut and other states received similar threats. Police said once the Norwich location was notified of the threat, managers evacuated and closed the business early.

Norwich police and the Mohegan Tribal Police Department Canine Unit cleared the building, and found no threat inside or outside the building.

Norwich police said they have made no arrests, and will continue to investigate with state and federal partners.

Norwich police ask anyone with information related to the incident to contact them at (860) 886-5561 or by an anonymous tip line at (860) 886-5561, Ext. 4.
