Man charged with throwing bricks, causing crash in Ledyard
Ledyard ― Police arrested a New Britain man on Sunday after they say he threw bricks at a vehicle, caused it to crash into a tree along Foxwoods Boulevard.
The incident occurred at 3:27 a.m. when a vehicle with two passengers struck a tree head-on. Police said their investigation determined Michael Kilduff, 31, had thrown bricks at the vehicle, causing it to crash.
Police said Kilduff ran into the woods but was found by a Montville police K-9 team. Police said the incident stemmed from a boyfriend/girfriend dispute. No serious injuries were reported but police said Kilduff was taken to Backus Hospital as a precaution and later released.
Police said there was no evidence of a stabbing or anyone hit by a vehicle, as initially reported.
Kilduff was charged with breach of peace, first-degree criminal mischief and attempted second-degree assault. He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in New London Superior Court.
