Norwich man charged with assaulting two correction officers

Montville ― State police arrested a Norwich man this week on charges he assaulted two correction officers.

Anthony L. Teague, 38, was charged Monday with two counts of assault on a correction officer. Police said they were called to Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville on Monday where prison personnel reported that Teague struck one correction officer in the face twice and kicked another in the leg. The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.

Teague was at the prison after his arrest on Monday by Norwich police on two counts of second-degree failure to appear in court. After his latest arrest, Teague was released back to the custody of the Department of Correction on a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear May 2 in Norwich Superior Court.
