Montville man charged with running drug factory, fentanyl and meth possession

Montville ― Police arrested a local man Monday after searching his home and finding 258 grams of methamphetamines, cash and other drugs.

Monroe Morris, 42, of 56 Park Avenue Extension was charged with operating a drug factory, use of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Montville police said they, East Lyme police and the United States Postal Inspection Task Force executed a search warrant and also seized 25 grams of fentanyl, six boxes of psylocibin mushroom edibles and two bottles of liquid GHB.

GHB is a depressant best known as a so-called “date rape drug.”

Morris is being held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond and is next scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on June 4.

Morris was arrested in 2015, charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and sentenced to seven years in prison, but was released after one year and placed on three years’ probation.
