    Five displaced by Old Lyme fire

    Old Lyme ― Five people were displaced by an early Tuesday morning fire that severely damaged a multi-family home at 180 Boston Post Road near Rogers Lake.

    No injuries were reported but Old Lyme Fire Marshal David Roberge said residents of the four-family home will not be able to return home because of the damage caused by the fire.

    Roberge is investigating the cause of the fire.

    The fire was first reported at 1:31 a.m. on Tuesday. Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the home. The Old Lyme Fire Department called was assisted by the Flanders, Niantic, Old Saybrook, Lyme and Essex fire departments.

    The Red Cross is providing aid to the people who lived in the home.
