    Westbrook Police Incident Report for Sept. 2 to 4

    The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

    Sunday, Sept. 2

    • No arrests were made.

    • A disturbances report was investigated on the mid-1500 block of Boston Post Road at 12:53 a.m.

    • Citizen assistance was provided at 93 Old Mail Trail at 9:58 a.m.

    Monday, Sept. 3

    • A 37 year-old Haden woman and a 33 year-old Middletown woman were arrested at 3:22 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree. The two women were accused of shoplifting and fraudulent returns, and they were found in possession of merchandise police determined was stolen from Timberland Factory Outlet, Aeropostale Store, and Children’s Place Clothing Store.

    • At 8:15 a.m. police investigated a missing person report. The complainant stated that several people waded out to Salt Island from the beach in front of Water’s Edge Inn and Resort during low tide the evening before. At 1 a.m. on Sept. 3 some of those individuals attempted to return to the beach at high tide. One of the individuals reportedly had difficulty swimming back to shore. Police later determined that that person was unaccounted for and was officially reported as missing.

    • An untimely death was investigated at 1525 Boston Post Road at 8:43 a.m.

    Tuesday, Sept. 4

    • No arrests were made.
