    Deep River Police Incident Report for Nov. 13 to 19

    The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

    Wednesday, Nov. 13

    • No arrests were made.

    • An assault incident was investigated at 8:31 a.m. A juvenile was allegedly assaulted by the accused with a baseball bat. The incident occurred in the area of Rattling Valley Road in Deep River. The case was still under investigation at press time and no further details were made available by police.

    Thursday, Nov. 14 - Saturday, Nov. 16

    • No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

    Sunday, Nov. 17

    • No arrests were made.

    • A 37 year-old man of a Main Street apartment was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:11 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) and failure to drive right following a one-vehicle accident. The accused was operating a 2003 Saturn Vue on Kelsey Hill Road when he attempted to turn left onto Warsaw Street, drifted off the roadway, and struck a wire rope guard rail. He then left the scene. He was located a short while later and admitted to the accident. No injuries were reported by the driver as a result of the accident.

    Monday, Nov. 18 - Tuesday, Nov. 19

    • No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
