Body found behind vacant New London home Tuesday
New London — Police are seeking information from the public after finding a deceased man in the backyard of a vacant house Tuesday afternoon, according to a news release.
Police said they located the African-American man, estimated to have been in his 30s, behind 18 Gorton St. just before 2 p.m.
The man, whose identity is not being released at this time, had been dead for about 24 hours, police estimated.
Police said his death does not seem suspicious.
The New London County State’s Attorney's Office and the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are assisting with the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (860) 447-1481 or to anonymously submit information via their website's Tip 411 system.
