Stonington police determine woman falsely reported home invasion

Stonington — Police say that a reported home invasion at a residence on Hewitt Road on Tuesday morning did not happen.

Capt. Todd Olson said Thursday that detectives determined that the alleged victim’s entire report was false. Police have not identified the woman.

Police responded to the home at 10:12 a.m. The woman was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Detectives interviewed neighbors and the woman and collected evidence at the scene.
