    Dump truck rollover in Waterford sends one to hospital with minor injuries

    Waterford — An accident in which a dump truck struck a car on Route 85 resulted in minor injuries to the driver of the car and a road closure for a few hours on Friday, police said.

    The dump truck hit the car at 11:30 a.m. Friday on Route 85, north of Lakes Pond Road. Waterford police Sgt. Jonathan Pettigrew said the truck driver has been charged with following too close.

    The accident still is under investigation.

    The woman driving the car was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, according to Pettigrew, and the truck driver was uninjured.

    The road reopened at 3:25 p.m. on Friday.
