Police ID New London man who died of possible overdose
New London — Police have identified the man who died Monday of a suspected drug overdose.
Fifty-five-year-old Angel Luis Santiago, whose last known address was 730 State Pier Road, or the Homeless Hospitality Center, is the deceased.
According to police, emergency personnel on Monday morning found Santiago in a stairwell of the high-rise at 48 Crystal Ave., which is part of the Thames River Apartments complex.
Santiago was unresponsive on arrival and did not react to two doses of Narcan administered by firefighters, according to police.
Crews took Santiago to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said they gathered evidence from the scene. This incident remains under investigation.
