Norwich police: Three arrested in botched drug deal robbery
Norwich — An 18-year-old Greeneville man and two juveniles were arrested on robbery and related charges stemming from a Feb. 3 incident in which they allegedly robbed and assaulted a 17-year-old male who had arranged a drug deal with the man.
Pierre Dalce Jr., 18, of 402 Central Ave. was charged at noon Wednesday with first-degree robbery and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned Thursday in Norwich Superior Court and his bond was set at $50,000. He was scheduled to appear March 29 in the same court.
Two juvenile males also were charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree assault and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, police said.
According to the warrant for Dalce’s arrest, police were contacted on Feb. 3 by the 17-year-old victim, who told police he and a group of friends had arranged to purchase LSD from Dalce, described as someone he knew from school. Dalce allegedly agreed to meet the victim at a parking lot on Convent Avenue in Greeneville.
At the parking lot, the victim got into the vehicle driven by Dalce with two other passengers. Dalce allegedly drove to another location on Howard Street. The victim told police he gave Dalce $100 and was handed a sandwich bag containing a strip of paper. When he looked into the bag, he allegedly was punched in the face by the two passengers.
Dalce allegedly pointed a gun at the victim, which the victim believed to be real. The victim gave his iPhone 7 and a vapor cigarette to the three assailants. He then was told to get out of the car, and the three drove away.
In an interview with police Feb. 5, Dalce allegedly “freely admitted” to his involvement in the robbery, and said the weapon was a BB gun provided by one of the juveniles. Police also interviewed the two juveniles, one of which allegedly corroborated the account, while the other declined to be interviewed.
