Police, nonprofits partner up for drug take-back day Saturday

Several area police departments and nonprofit agencies are partnering up to collect unwanted medications during Saturday’s National Take Back Day.

The biannual effort, spearheaded by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, aims to ensure prescription drugs are safely disposed of and don’t end up in the wrong hands. Liquids and sharps, such as needles, will not be accepted.

Many of the locations listed below have drug take-back boxes that are available whenever the buildings are open. On Saturday, each location also will be staffed by police and/or nonprofit members, generally from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
