Norwich police seek third suspect in 2017 home invasion

Norwich — Police, who have made two arrests in a Dec. 1, 2017, home invasion at 83 W. Town St., are asking the public to help them identify and find a third suspect.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male possibly nicknamed “Psycho,” who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and in his early 20s. Police said he has a stocky build and keeps his long black hair in a ponytail or bun.

Police on April 27 charged Daniel O’Brien, 54, of 87 W. Town St. with accessory to commit home invasion, accessory to first-degree robbery, accessory to third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit home invasion, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny in connection with the incident.

On May 21, they charged Luis Ruiz, 39, of Meriden with home invasion, second-degree assault, first-degree robbery and third-degree larceny.

Police said a bitter business partnership breakup led to the home invasion and assault, in which two men entered the home, stole $8,000 and left one victim with several fractures to the face and head.

O’Brien allegedly enlisted Ruiz and a man nicknamed “Psycho” to go to the home. Police said O’Brien used to work at Autumn Oaks Investment LLC, which manages boarding and sober homes, with one of the victims.
