Higganum man dies in boating accident on Connecticut River

A Connecticut man was pronounced dead Friday after a boating accident on the Connecticut River, state Environmental Conservation Police say.

A 64-year-old Higganum man, whose name has not yet been released, was transported after a single-vessel accident near Haddam Meadows State Park about 3:20 p.m. Friday, EnCon police said. He was transported to Middlesex Hospital by a Haddam emergency medical crew and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

EnCon police said they are investigating the accident. No further information was immediately available.
