Norwich — Parents chased down a man after their children said he'd partially exposed himself in front of them Saturday, city police said.

Officers responded to a Maple Street residence after the parents reported the incident. They said a man was in their yard while the children were outside playing, according to a news release from the Norwich Police Department. The children went inside and told the parents that they had seen the man partially expose his genitals, the release said.

When the parents confronted the man, he ran off, prompting them to follow him, the release said. When they caught up to him, they demanded he identify himself, which he did. He then fled again. The parents followed him on Asylum Street until police arrived, according to the release. Officer Ryan O'Connell found and detained him while other officers continued to investigate what happened.

Police charged Kyle Quintin White, 27, of Hamilton Avenue with breach of peace, public indecency and three counts of risk of injury/impairing the morals of a minor. He was being held on a $50,000 cash-surety bond.

The investigation was continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact O'Connell by calling (860) 886-5561 or emailing roconnell@cityofnorwich.org.
