Police investigating discovery of skeletal remains near Mohegan Sun

Mohegan — The Mohegan Tribal Police Department is investigating the discovery of skeletal remains found Thursday on tribal land.

About 9 a.m., a public works groundskeeping crew notified police that skeletal remains were found in a wooded area near Cove Road, according to a Mohegan Sun spokesperson.

Police are investigating, along with the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad, New London County State's Attorney's Office and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
