Montville woman charged in alleged armed robbery

Norwich — A Montville woman was charged with robbery and other charges in connection with an alleged armed robbery Feb. 12 in the Stop & Shop supermarket parking lot, police said.

Lorilee Priest, 39, of 156 Route 163, Montville, was charged at 12:30 p.m. Monday with first-degree robbery, second-degree breach of peace, second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and theft of a credit card. She was held initially on a $75,000 bond and arraigned in Norwich Superior Court. The bond was reduced to $10,000, and her next court date is June 24 in Norwich Superior Court.

Norwich police said on Feb. 12, Priest allegedly confronted a person in the Norwich Stop & Shop parking lot with a knife and attempted to get money from the victim, who had none to give. To appease Priest, the victim allegedly gave her a credit card instead. Priest then fled the area.

Police said no injuries were sustained in the incident.
