Police identify pedestrian struck by car Sunday in East Lyme
East Lyme — Police have identified the pedestrian struck by a vehicle Sunday in Niantic as 78-year-old Charles Fenick of Riverview Road.
Fenick was struck by a car exiting the Churchwood condominium complex on Riverview Road at 7:09 a.m. Sunday.
Police said the Fenick was transported by ambulance to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with a suspected serious injury. He was later flown by Life Star helicopter to Yale New Haven Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
Police have identified the driver involved in the accident as James Riordan, 82, also of Riverview Road in Niantic.
The accident remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact police at (860) 739-5900.
