New London — Police have arrestd a 20-year-old New London man who they say attempted to rob a female with a knife in the area of Cedar Grove Cemetery.

The incident happened on Aug. 25. The robbery was unsuccesful and the man, Marion Anthony Watts Jr. of 239 Nautilus Drive, No. 143, fled the location, New London police Capt. Brian Wright said. 

Police, later that same day, located Watts at a residence on School Street and arrested him without incident. He is charged with attempted first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, second-degree reckless endangerment and carrying a dangerous weapon.
