New London — New London police responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a Waterford police cruiser and another vehicle in the area of Briggs Street and Route 32 around 7:11 a.m. Friday.

New London police Capt. Brian Wright said a Waterford police officer was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. No other involved parties requested medical attention on scene, Wright said.

The investigation remains active. The Waterford officer was not identified.
