Stonington police charge man with making, igniting two Molotov cocktails
Stonington — Police charged a local man Wednesday with making two Molotov cocktails and igniting them along a wooded area of North Main Street on Oct. 24.
Roderick E.F. Grimshaw, 23, of 15 Old Pequot Trail was charged with manufacturing a bomb, breach of peace, second-degree reckless endangerment and littering after police obtained a warrant for his arrest. According to the state judicial database, he is being held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Dec. 13.
Police said that on Oct. 24, they received a report of a small fire along a wooded area of North Main Street, which is near Grimshaw’s home. When police arrived, they discovered it was a Molotov cocktail. They then located a second device that also had begun to burn and were able to extinguish both. Police said that information obtained from a witness implicated Grimshaw.
