Norwich fire displaces two adults, four cats
Norwich — A kitchen fire that broke out in a trailer park community at 44 Norwich Road on Friday morning displaced two adults and four cats. No one was injured.
Taftville fire Assistant Chief Bill Hadam said though the cause of the fire was being investigated, he thought it likely was caused by a grease fire.
The fire, which was called in just before 9 a.m., began in and was contained only to the kitchen, but did cause smoke damage throughout the home.
Hadam said fire crews quickly knocked down the fire. Firefighters from Taftville, Norwich and Occum departments responded and American Red Cross was assisting those who were displaced.
