Man struck by vehicle, injured in Salem
Salem — A man was struck by a vehicle and injured Monday morning in Salem, according to state police.
Willam Sawchuk, 64, of 157 Pine Brook Rd. in Colchester, was driving in a driveway at 499 Old Colchester Road about 10 a.m. when he struck and ran over 73-year-old Edward Mrowka, according to Connecticut State Police.
Mrowka, who lived at the home where the incident occurred, suffered minor injuries to his leg, police said.
He was alert and conscious and was taken by the Gardner Lake Volunteer Fire Company to Backus Hospital for treatment, police said.
