Man shot at Groton hookah lounge

Groton — Town police are investigating the shooting of a 27-year-old man during an altercation at the Midnight Hookah Lounge at 3:45 a.m. Sunday.

The man, who suffered a single gunshot wound to his arm, was brought to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle. Police said the man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they learned of the shooting at 4:05 a.m. when a New London police officer informed them he was at the hospital emergency room investigating an unrelated incident and learned of the gunshot victim.

Police were able to ascertain that the shooting occurred at the lounge at 403 Pleasant Valley Road South. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Groton Town Police at (860) 441-6712.

In July 2019, a man was stabbed during a 3:15 a.m. fight at the lounge. The man survived.
