Man trapped in vehicle after striking tree in Stonington
Stonington — A man was trapped in his vehicle after striking a tree on Route 184 in Stonington, police said.
The man was driving on Route 184 in Stonington near Oak Lane when he struck a tree about 1 p.m., according to Stonington Police Department Captain Todd Olson.
The man was trapped inside his vehicle but was conscious and alert, Olson said. Police, fire officials and emergency medical personnel were on the scene as of 1:30 p.m.
The extent of the man's injuries were not yet known. The crash may have been caused by a medical emergency, Olson said.
