Three-car crash in Waterford sends three to hospital
Waterford — A three-car crash with injuries shut down a portion of the northbound side of Route 32 for about an hour Friday afternoon.
Quaker Hill Fire Company Chief Vinnie Ukleja said three people were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London with minor injuries after the crash, which occurred about 4 p.m. in the area between Scotch Cap Road and Hempstead Drive.
Ukleja closed the northbound side of the road from Scotch Cap to Old Norwich Road as EMS personnel took care of the injured and firefighters cleaned up the scene. The road reopened around 5:10, he said.
Quaker Hill Fire Company also was assisted by Cohanzie Fire Company and Waterford Fire Police.
