    New London Police looking for information about overnight shooting

    New London — A unidentified male victim is reported in stable condition after an alleged early morning shooting Monday, according to New London police.

    New London police in a news release said officers responded to a 2:45 a.m. call about shots fired in the area of Montauk and Denison avenues, shortly before the victim was brought to the William W. Backus Hospital emergency room in Norwich.

    Police said the incident does not appear to be a random act. Members of the Investigative Services Division, who were on scene to collect evidence and canvass the area, are working with Norwich police as part of the investigation.
