Man struck by vehicle near Electric Boat

Groton — A man was struck by a vehicle near Electric Boat early Friday morning, police said.

The man was hit about 6:20 a.m. near the intersection of Rainville Avenue and Mumford Avenue, according to the City of Groton Police Department, an area between a cluster of parking lots connected to Electric Boat.

The man, whose exact age wasn't yet known, was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London for treatment. He was conscious and alert, police said.

No further information was immediately available.
