Ledyard police make drug arrest at Fox Run Apartments

Ledyard — Police arrested a Fox Run Apartments resident late Thursday night after responding to a report of a water leak at the Flintrock Road complex, where a maintenance worker discovered a drug factory.

Nicholas McNeil, 25, of 16E Flintrock Road, was charged with operating a drug factory, cultivation of more than 2 pounds of marijuana, possession of drugs with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a $150,000 cash or surety bond and was scheduled to appear Friday in New London Superior Court.

Police and firefighters responded to a Fox Run resident's report of water leaking from the ceiling of the unit below Apartment 16E, police said. When they knocked on the door of 16E, there was no answer.

A maintenance worker then entered Apartment 16E and discovered the drug factory, police said. McNeil was arrested upon his return to the apartment, they said.
